American news sources cover an American ally carrying out a genocide with American weapons and leading American soldiers to die in a futile war over nothing more than they cover events in Sudan that are horrible but largely irrelevant to American politics. I don't see why this is surprising.

> leading American soldiers to die in a futile war
There have literally been 0 American soldier casualties in Israel as a result of this war.
> events in Sudan that are horrible but largely irrelevant to American politics
If you only care about human suffering if it relates to American politics, then sure I guess. Hundreds of thousands of people are dead with millions displaced. The US has been directly carrying out strikes in Yemen for 2 decades now (hundreds of strikes with likely thousands of casualties) and no one talks about it or cares.

Fascinating. By scale, the Ukraine War, Sudan, Syrian Civil War, etc. have caused significantly more misery and death. But there's 0 money in reporting on them, and it doesn't not tap into the latent desire for a global conspiracy and enemy. You don't have to agree with the country (and you can hate what they're doing in Gaza) and still see the scale of media coverage doesn't align.
